G4 Server
I'm currently contemplating bringing that 'Sawtooth' G4 up here and plopping some various flavor of Linux on it. I want to give it a shot at being my personal server.
Sadly, Linux won't support my Applescript CGIs like my previous Beige G3 Server did. Mind you, I could install OS 9 on the G4, but I wanted to give a Linux server a shot. I want to see how well it does.
I'll have to go look and see if I have any relatively large hard drives lying around. I don't think that I do. But, I might as well go have a looksy.
You should try the Ubuntu Server Edition! Yay! I love the little changes you've done to the site, too, especially the progress bars.
Seriously, though, "life?" :P Try more like 2080 -- our generation is going to live a long time.
I doubt that I'm going to live to be 95 with my current lifestyle. Nevertheless, I only had a few things up there and I wanted to put something else. Life seemed an apt thing to add. I doubt that it is very accurate.
trust me, a person's lifestyle will mean very little in about 40 years when we've got custom laboratory-made retroviruses correcting our gene abnormalities in real-time. 150 years will be the norm for a human being's life!
