G3 Server Update...

| | Comments (1)

Once I got around to it, it was easy to find a free VNC server for my G3 server. I've been using it for about an hour now without any problems. It doesn't mess with the other server programs running on it or anything.
Hopefully, I'll be able to work on some things that I've been neglecting now. I won't have to break out a monitor and keyboard/mouse just to get on the Server.
I don't know why I haven't used VNC server/clients before. I suppose I never really bothered to find out what it could do. Quite neat.

I was always angry with Netflix because they only have 3/4th of the series on their Watch Now service. I don't know why. Nevertheless, I already have the last 3 discs (that I haven't seen) on my watch list. Sadly, because I have the cheapest service avaliable, it will take a month and a half to get 'em all. That sucks.
I suppose it is good in a way. It will help limit how much I can watch at one time. Knowing me, I would probably be done watching all of it in a couple of days. Then I would be left without anything else to watch. That would be bad. Bad indeed.
Hmm. That's 'bout it for now, friend.

As you can see, I have made another banner/background combo for the Gardens. I think that it may just be too big. I suppose it doesn't matter. Looks alright. Not as good as the last one, though. In my opinion.

A Blah Day...

Well, I woke up this morning to a overcast sky. Everything was grey and dull. Ughh. I do hope that it clears up a little before I head off to work. It would be nice.
One good side about the lack of rain is the lack of growth in the grass. Well, I do like mowing the lawn. So, its more of a good/bad side really. I don't know. Nevertheless, its dry around here.

Cold Weather...

It was around the mid 40s (degrees Fahrenheit) at about 6:30 to 7 this morning. Once the sun rose above the trees behind my house, temperatures did start to rise but slowly. I haven't had to use the AC all this morning. In fact, I had to turn on the heat for a bit in order to get it to 70 degrees.
I think these are signs that Autumn (we got Summer, Autumn, and Spring; no winter for us) has come to Troy. I hope, at least. Knowing the way the weather has been, it will get back up in the 90s next week. Not much one can do about it.
I do prefer cold sunny mornings, though. Cold sunny days do me just fine too.

I hope that by now you would have heard of the system requirements for the next Mac OS. I didn't plan to use it but I think that I simply won't be able to. Oh, there will be ways to get it on unsupported machines with XPostFactO or some other utility. There will always be a way.
On the other hand, I believe that the operating system will no longer support the G3 chip. That is, from what I've heard.
I have to say that my ant patrols are a resounding success. Ant sightings inside of my house have almost reached zero since I began patrolling around my house every day.
In fact, I haven't seen any ants in their usual hangout, behind the dryer. Well, honestly, that is the only place I really ever saw any large amount of ants. I don't see any more there, though.
   Yep, takin' care of bidness.

Newton recap...

I forgot to mention but the operation was a success. I now have a switch from a computer hooked up to it. I'm glad it was just a generic switch and not something fancy.
I don't have it situated in there great yet. In fact, it is held in with some double-sided tape (I couldn't find my super-glue at the time). I do plan on getting back in there to affix it in a more permanent fashion.

Newton Surgery

I'm going to attempt to fix my Newton 2100's power button in a couple of minutes. I hope that it will be something obvious with an easy-enough fix. If not, I'll think of something.
Taking the back off the Newton is an easy enough feat since I've done it many a times before. I just hope that I don't mess something up and turn it into a useless brick. I doubt that I can do anything wrong, though.
   Wish me luck...
