To just let everyone that uses this server know, I'm going to begin the cancellation process on the 12th or 13th of this month. I've already downloaded the latest site backup, but it is only for September. Any changes made since then would not be backed up, obviously. So, I would suggest getting anything you absolutely need off before then.
The new Gardens of Aiur is coming along nicely. It feels nice to be hosting it off of the G3 Server. There is a certain nostalgic charm to be using MacHTTP running under Mac OS 9. Plus, writing all the necessary CGIs in Applescript is quite fun. Mind you, Applescript isn't really obselete since it is still developed for OS X. Still, that's the only real way to do some of the more dynamic things on this server.
More good news is that the new layout doesn't use tables to do the layout. It's almost pure CSS/XHTML. It doesn't look half bad either.
I've been thinking about things lately. For one, I realized I'm paying $10 a month to essentially have a blog (the server fee). Sadly, this took a while to dawn on me.
I've decided with the low level of traffic my blog actually gets, my server here in the house should be able to handle it quite well. I may actually be upgrading my server to a 1.4GHz Celeron-based machine that should be able to handle even better. All in good time, though. There is no rush.
The reason that I've been thinking about this is Netflix. Right now, I'm at the lowest type of account, 1-at-a-time. I want to move up to the one I used to have and have a little bit of money freed up. Since I have no other 'optional' bills, the point of having this server has come into question. With that money released, I could even move up to the 2-at-a-time service. I have no reason to go up to that, though. There is no point.
As you can see, I have made another banner/background combo for the Gardens. I think that it may just be too big. I suppose it doesn't matter. Looks alright. Not as good as the last one, though. In my opinion.

I spotted it a day or so ago but it has been ahile since I checked on it. Since then, this Raius Thunder IV 1600GX Nubus video card has skyrocketed in price. As I post this, it is sitting around $150.
Personally, I would say that the price is worth it. If you have an 'ole Nubus Mac then I've heard that this is the fastest card avaliable.
Luckily it only took a day to get TM Anime domain registered again. Seemed a simple enough thing to do. It cost $15 dollars, though. I'm glad it is only once a year. I have enough bills at the moment.

You may have noticed my new "Note" type of entry. Well, anyhoo, you can tell them by the
that appears before them.
Basically, these are just really short entries that serve more as... notes. Plus, I disable commenting on them since there probably isn't much to comment on.
Yes, after finding out why the city turned off my power instead of 'turning it on', I did go by and get the self-installation cable internet kit from Charter. As you can tell, I am once again sailing through the vastness that is the internet and I am glad.
I only got the 3Mbps/256kbps package but that is more than enough for me. Plus, that is really the only thing I can afford at the moment. Maybe in the future I will move up to the higher tier services. Mind you, they get expensive up there. I'll just have to see how things work out.
